Youngstown launches 2018 aerial spray season at Utah range
A 910th Airlift Wing C-130H Hercules sits on the ramp at Hill Air Force Base (AFB), Utah, March 7, 2018 during an aerial spray mission. The Wing launched its 2018 spray season March 5-16, 2018, at the Utah Test and Training Range, near Hill AFB, to eliminate Halogeton, an invasive weed species that poses a risk to Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) crews at the range. The 910th operates the Department of Defense’s (DOD) only large area fixed-wing aerial spray capability to control vegetation, disease-carrying insects, pest insects, and to disperse oil spills in large bodies of water.
