Western Transport Air Force Shield

Significance: The white globe represents the worldwide flying mission of the Western Transport Air Force (MATS) and our capability to support the Armed Forces in all parts of the world. The red and golden-yellow dart superimposed upon the globe, flying into the West, symbolizes the forward look of WESTAF and indicates the combined and coordinated mission of our immense operation over the worldwide airways. The blue field of the shield symbolizes our aim to accomplish the Air Force mission with safety, speed, and comfort. The emblem bears the Air Force colors, ultramarine blue and golden yellow, as well as the national colors, red, white, and blue.
