340th Flying Training Group Hosts 2018 Enlisted Summit

JOINT-BASE SAN ANTONIO-Randolph, Texas – Enlisted members from the 340th Flying Training Group headquarters and its seven squadrons gathered on July 23-26 at the Hangar Hotel in Fredericksburg, Texas for the unit's 2018 Enlisted Summit.

The 340th Flying Training Group, commanded by Col. Allen Duckworth, supports Air Education and Training Command's Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training, Joint Primary Pilot Training, Pilot Instructor Training, Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals, Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training, Basic Military Training and the United States Air Force Academy's Airmanship Programs.

The summit included professional development sessions where speakers shared information and insight on topics including: stress management, resiliency, education and training, evaluations, bullet writing, health and fitness, effective communication, public speaking, retirement and more.

The guest speaker for this year’s summit was 433rd Airlift Wing Command Chief Shana Cullum. The chief shared information about her life, career and issues such as leadership and the value of a team during a Q&A round table.

Organization for the summit was spearheaded by acting 340th Flying Training Group superintendent, Senior Master Sgt. Laura Garcia. During the four-day airirmen participated in several workshops designed to provide junior enlisted Airmen with the tools they need to become tomorrow's Air Force leaders.
