As severe weather throughout the country headed towards Maxwell Air Force Base last week, the 908th Airlift Wing leadership team decided it was in the best interest of the wing to execute the weather evacuation plan for some of the 908th’s C-130s to a location outside the path of the coming storms.

Various mission sets from across the wing came together quickly, in some cases only having a couple hours to accomplish the evacuation. After the storm passed, the wing was able to spin up again to receive the aircraft back at Maxwell, which included a 5 ship formation that executed a tactical arrival prior to landing.

The 908th took advantage of the weather situation and found a way to execute valuable large formation training.
