MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL AIR RESERVE STATION, Minn. – The 934th Airlift Wing started the new year and decade with a brand new wing commander.
Col. Christopher T. Lay took command of the wing during an assumption of command ceremony officiated by Maj. Gen. John P. Healy, 22nd Air Force commander, Air Force Reserve Command.
“Thank you for this opportunity to command. I don’t take this obligation lightly. I understand the responsibility,” said Lay.
Lay recently returned from a deployment in December 18, 2019 and was the wing commander for the 913th Airlift Group in Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. Additionally, Lay is a rated master navigator with more than 3000 flight hours piloting both the C-130E and C-130H model.
Lay assumes command from Col. Anthony G. Polashek, former 934th AW commander. Polashek retired from the Air Force Reserve in November of last year.
