MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL AIR RESERVE STATION, Minn. – Chief Master Sgt. Tim White, the Air Force Reserve Command Chief, visited the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Air Reserve Station on Sept. 11, 2021. White toured the base and met with Airmen, and delivered a message of unity after a year of COVID-19, the civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd, and the January 6 insurrection.
During his visit, White toured facilities on base and spoke to Airmen along the way. His main message, on the 20th anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center in New York, was about the need for unity in the face of the divisiveness in our society today.
“If we want to stand up and keep Americans safe from those who want to do us harm, we need to be united,” White said to Airmen of the 934th Airlift Wing. “We can disagree on many things, but we can’t disagree on what’s right and what’s wrong.”
White believes there is plenty of room for respect among Airmen, and urged everyone to continue to remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001 and seek out common ground—to find what connects us rather than what divides us.
“My opinion may be different than yours, and we don’t have to agree, but we can respect each other,” White said.
Throughout his brief visit, White enjoyed meeting the Airmen of the 934th Airlift Wing. He reiterated that throughout his visit, he was met with the kindness and hospitality that he expected from such an amazing unit.
“I would love to return to Minneapolis,” White said during his last stop of the day. “As long as it’s not in the winter.”
