Mission Support Group leadership visit Civil Rights battlefield
Senior Master Sgt. Monica Brown, 403rd Force Support Squadron superintendent, takes a photo in the National Memorial for Peace and Justice of the wall of jars filled with soils marked with the locations and names of lynching victims, April 9, 2021 during the 403rd Mission Support Group staff ride. The 403rd MSG leadership participated in a non-traditional staff ride, which involves walking a battlefield, only in this case the battle that was fought was the Civil Rights Movement for African Americans in Montgomery, Alabama. The staff ride was intended to provide the leadership team with a better posture in order to have the tough conversations with their Airmen when it comes time to discuss diversity and inclusion and why it plays a vital role in combat readiness.
