    40 years of service to country: Chief Master Sgt. Donald Tarrance

    Air Force Reserve Chief Master Sgt. Donald Tarrance, 327th Airlift Squadron superintendent, retired June 5, 2020, after his final flying mission. Tarrance’s career comes to a close with over 9,450 flying hours in the C-9A, C-130E/H/J model aircraft. A unique chapter in his career considering he started his career in 1980 as part of the 20th Special Force Group, Airborne, as an operations analyst in the Army National Guard, Alabama.

    Reserve Citizen Airmen hunt hurricanes

    This specialized unit of Reserve Citizen Airmen is made up of a five-person crew consisting of a pilot, co-pilot, navigator, aerial reconnaissance weather officer, and loadmaster who is also the dropsonde operator.

    Enlisted aircrew paramount to C-130 Hercules flight testing

    Not many people know that a small contingent of experienced enlisted C-130 aircrew reside at Hill Air Force Base. They are charged with the depot support flights of Air Force overflow, and Navy and Marine Corps aircraft.

    815th Loadmaster back in action

    Senior Airman John Boudreaux, 815th Airlift Squadron loadmaster, recalls the night that changed his life. “I remember the headlights from the other car when it came into my lane in a curve,” said Boudreaux. He avoided a collision but his vehicle went off the road.
